I offer a free initial consultation, in which we get to know each other and you can decide if you would like me to be a part of your birth team. If you decide to invite me to attend, I will give you an information binder that I have put together. This binder has information about a variety of topics ranging from pregnancy through postpartum.
As part of my doula services, we will schedule 1 or 2 prenatal meetings. These meetings will be our opportunity to discuss any concerns you might have, your birth plan (which I can help you put together), your expectations of me, and anything else you would like to discuss concerning your pregnancy and birth. I will be available to you via email and phone throughout your pregnancy and postpartum period to help you with any questions or concerns you might have. Beginning two weeks before your due date, I will be on call for you 24-7. When labor begins, I will meet you at your home or the hospital and provide continuous support during labor. After the birth, I will remain to help you get started breastfeeding. Once everyone is settled and ready for a rest, I will leave. We will then schedule a postpartum visit, in which we can discuss the birth, breastfeeding, motherhood and your new baby. During this postpartum visit, I like to pamper new moms and their babies with a celebratory herb bath.
My doula fee is $400. I ask for $150 at the signing of the contract and the remainder by our last prenatal appointment. But, don't let payment stop you from having a doula! If money is an issue, I am always willing to barter or make arrangements with you.
